Sara Isabel Lebre de Almeida, is a PhD student in Gerontology and Geriatrics funded by Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT) (SFRH/BD/120695/2016), since 2017. The doctorate in Gerontology and Geriatrics is an association between Porto University, other instituitions (i.e., Abel Salazar Biomedical Sciences Institute; UP Faculty of Medicine; UP Faculty of Sciences Nutrition; UP Faculty of Sports; UP Faculty of Humanities) and University of Aveiro. Almeida’s PhD project is supported by iBiMED – Institute for Research in Biomedicine and the Respiratory Research and Rehabilitation Laboratory (Lab3R) at ESSUA – School of Health Sciences, University of Aveiro, Portugal. Almeida hold a degree in gerontology from ESSUA in 2013 and a Master degree in Gerontology: Management of Social Equipment (dissertation: Balance in older people in function of age, gender and body composition) from Secção Autónoma de Ciências da Saúde (SACS), University of Aveiro in 2015. Almeida is currently developing her PhD project: “LiFE4D: a home-based physical activity programme for people with dementia”. She has been a first author in one national paper and co-author in two paper in international peer-reviewed journals. Currently Almeida has 2 submitted papers at international peer-reviewed journals. Almeida has 18 abstracts in international and national conference proceedings, 7 oral communications, 15 posters in national and international conferences and 3 oral communications by invitation.
